Racquetball and Westerns
These last few days have been long, fun, and painful. First off, I would recommend anyone who plays racquetball to wear goggles. If you want to know why, you can look here:
Yeah. Jeremy Westra, Jeriel Melgares and I were playing racquetball, and Jeriel and I went for the ball at the same time. I got the ball. Jeriel got my face. But thankfully the racket didn't get my eye due to my goggles. I also am thankful that the cut didn't keep bleeding, and it really wasn't painful at all. We cleaned it up right away and went to the ER for stitches. And they had to call the doctor in...because why wouldn't we play racquetball at midnight? The doctor said it would probably swell so much that I wouldn't be able to see out of my eye. Ha. It didn't swell at all. And after I get these stitches out (tomorrow morning), me, Jeremy, and Jeriel are finishing that game. And Jeriel brought me a plant. I've never had a plant. I hope I can keep it living. It's kinda like a pet, you know? But one I don't have to take for walks. It's sitting in our living room window right now. Jeriel brought chocolates, too. Really addicting ones with caramel inside. Mmmm...Thanks, Jeriel!
Pretty much everyone's gone for tri-state break. It's a conference here at Dordt that brings people from who knows where (i think mostly locally) to talk about Christian education...and stuff...I really don't know all that goes on. So I guess I could be way off on what they talk about. But I work at Hope Haven this weekend, so I'm sticking around for the duration. Because of that, I'm helping with a 48-hour film challenge that is going on here at Dordt. Jon Hjelle, Matt Sieperda, Mason Welsh, and Jess Brauning are the team, and they needed some actors. What is this film challenge, you ask? Well, the 12 teams found out what genre of movie they were making last night at 7, then they have to be done by Saturday at 10. (Okay...so it's more than 48 hours...maybe they're giving some grace sleep hours). But our team got Western for a genre, and I got to play the part of Bart, the drunk jerk who everyone thinks killed the beautiful Sandy. I proclaim my innocence all the way through...but am I lying or was it really me? Or maybe it was the bartender? The reverand? Who knows? Watch the finished product and find out. It'll be done soon, and then we can hopefully put it on Google Video and then I can put a copy on here. We'll see. If nothing else, we'll get the pictures on here. Oh, and that was something that my scars were good for! It really helped to make the character. I think it'll come out really well - they've put a lot of time into this. I'm excited to see the finished product. But now my part is done and I can relax tonight and tomorrow because I don't work until Saturday. Yay for breaks!
